Disney Related Movies Coming Out This Spring

Hi guys! So today I'll be telling you about some of the movies that will be coming out this spring. A few of these movies include The Jungle Book, Alice Through The Looking Glass, and Finding Dory. I'm personally looking forward to these movies, considering I really liked their related movies that preceded them.

The Jungle Book comes out April 15 and it is a live action take on the classic Disney film The Jungle Book that I'm sure many of us grew up watching. Mowgli, a man-cub, is raised in the jungle by wolves, but becomes threatened by a ferocious tiger Shere Khan. This in turn urges him to abandon the jungle with the help of the panther Bagheera and the free spirited Baloo. Along the way Mowgli find himself face to face with other jungle creatures he had yet to know.

Alice Through The Looking Glass comes out May 27 and it's a sequel to Alice in Wonderland. Alice has returned to Wonderland and finds that the Mad Hatter is becoming darker. In order to save him she turns to Time himself and is set on a time travel adventure in which she is met with younger versions of the other characters.

Finding Dory is coming out June 17 and it's a spin off of the Disney movie Finding Nemo. The forgetful fish, Dory, has been living with Nemo and Marlin on the reef when she suddenly remembers that she has a family that may be looking for her. The trio then venture off to California's Marine Life Institute and with the help of some of its residents, search the institute in pursuit of her parents.

Movie Themed Get Together

Hey guys! So today I'm going to be giving you some ideas on what you can do if you want to host a movie themed night. My family and I usually base our dinner and extra treats around what movie we're planning on watching. We normally do some of these things when my younger cousins are coming over and they absolutely love it. They're able to help us make everything, which allows them to be further involved, and they're always ecstatic with the outcome. What you decide to make really depends on what movie you guys are watching. You can either make a dish that's in the movie or you can make treats that go along with a specific memorable moment from the movie.

Around Christmas time, we had my cousins over for a Grinch themed movie night. We made green cookies with little red hearts in the middle as well as green lemonade. Later that night we also made mugs of hot chocolate with green whipped cream.

When we decided to watch The Goonies, we made some Italian food, seeing as the Fratelli family is Italian. We made some homemade pizzas and once we ran out of that, we made spaghetti.

A themed movie night is really a great thing to do, with whoever you would like, and I'm sure you'll enjoy it.

Commentary Blog

Hi guys! So today I'll be commentating on B+ Movie's blog "The 2016 Film Release Calendar: December". In this blog they write about movies set to release this year in December. Their synopsis is given as well as the actors and a rating of how good they believe the movie will be; however that only applies to a few. I will just be adding any details that they may not have included that have since been released.

Strangers 2 is supposedly going to be released December 2. Supposedly the only known cast members so far are Gemma Ward, who is to play dollface and Liv Tyler, who is to play Kristen McKay.

As for Let It Snow, it is supposed to be released December 9. This seems to be the only news concerning the movie so far other than it is supposed to be produced by Scott Stuber and Dylan Clark, while screenplay is by Kay Cannon.
Plenty is known about Rogue One: A Star Wars Story, which is to be released on December 16 along with Chicken Soup for the Soul, which we have yet to hear more about.
Assasin's Creed, Passengers and Sing are all set to be released December 21. These three movies have a cast full of talented actors and hopefully they won't disappoint.

Last but not least, Miss Peregrine's Home for Peculiar Children is set to be released December 25. It is directed by Tim Burton, so if you like his style, I'm sure you're going to love this movie based off the famous novel.

Marvel & DC Movies Coming Out in 2016

Hi guys! So if you're a Marvel or DC fan, you're probably excited for 2016 seeing as there are so many amazing movies coming out this year. Some of these movies include Deadpool, Captain America: Civil War, and Suicide Squad.

In Deadpool, a former Special Force operative, Wade Wilson is gifted with accelerated healing after being experimented on. With his new abilities, he adopts his new alter ego, Deadpool, and hunts down the man who almost destroyed his life. Unlike any other superhero, Deadpool has a dark, twisted sense of humor that leads him to have a different outlook on his situation.

In Captain America: Civil War, citizens want superheroes to register with the government so that they're unable to use their powers without consent. Captain America is against this proposition while Iron Man is in favor. This leads to a "civil war" between the superheroes due to their different viewpoints and instead of fighting with each other, they're fighting against one another.

In Suicide Squad, a group of supervillains are enlisted by a secret government agency run by Amanda Waller to create a special task force group. Some of these villains include the Joker, Harley Quinn, Deadshot, Enchantress, Killer Croc and Captain Boomerang, Slipknot, Katana, Rick Flagg and Chato Santana. This movie is unlike any other DC movie since the bad guys are the protagonists of this movie who are to save people.

All of these movies have their own unique plot that makes them stand out from others. I am personally looking forward to the release of these movies and will definitely be watching them the week they come out.

How To: Home Movie Theater

Hey guys! So today I will be teaching you how to create your own home movie theater that's quick and easy. This is perfect to do with friends and family on the weekend and over the summer. I did this quite a few times and had a blast. We even did fun themes, for my younger cousins, that went along with the movie we planned on watching that nights. It's really simple and well worth it.

What you'll need:

  • white sheet
  • thumb tacks
  • projector
  • DVD player
  • movie

Steps:

  1. Find the place where you'd like to set up the screen
  2. Use thumb tacks to keep the sheet in place (make sure to keep it tight if it's outside so that it doesn't move with the wind)
  3. Connect the projector to the DVD player
  4. Insert the movie
  5. Move the projector around until it's in the desired place
  6. Enjoy!
I have also seen this done with PVC pipes holding the sheet up. This alternate form does appear to take a little bit more work, but I think it would still be a hundred percent worth it if you had no place to tack it up.
I hope you guys enjoyed this how to and that it comes in handy some day!

A Little Bit About Me

Hi, I’m Esmeralda but you can call me Esme. I’m currently a sophomore in high school who is really just a normal, kinda boring girl. I enjoy reading, listening to music and watching movies and spend most of my time doing one of those things. My favorite book is probably The Fault in Our Stars by John Green and even though it's pretty mainstream, it really is a great book that made me cry, a lot. My music range isn't very eclectic, but I'm open to listening to anything at least once. Although I do spend quite a lot of time listening to music and reading, I spend about 80% of my time watching movies whether it's with my family and friends or by myself at 2 o'clock in the morning. My number one movie would have to be The Goonies because who doesn’t love a good truffle shuffle?  I chose to make my blog about movies because I love to submerge myself in all the unique stories they tell. Like music, I believe that movies have the ability to alter one's emotions and can be used to escape reality by immersing yourself in the life of the characters. If you couldn't tell by the title of my blog, which is a referencing Disney's Mike's Super Short Show that did exactly what I intend on doing. I'll be talking about upcoming movies since I for one am very excited about some movie that will be coming out in the next few years. I may also be posting reviews and also comparing the movie to the book since I  always seem to be analyzing the movie versions for any mistakes they may have made. I hope you enjoy!
